Having been a GP (family doctor) for 27 years, but a musician for much longer, I have been consolidating my knowledge and practice of music.

I gained the LRSM diploma in Piano Performance from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in 2023 and I am currently engaged a Masters in Orchestration for Films, Games and Television at Bournemouth University (ending September 2026).

That’s it for exams! I am more interested in the pleasure of music both for its own sake but also because of the pleasure it gives others. This can be in any arena, from the concert hall, in films, television, documentaries, corporate media, video games, etc.

I have played many styles of music, with classical and jazz being the main genres, but including pop, easy listening, funk, etc, etc.

I have played in the full range of ensembles, including solo, duo with a singer, jazz trio and other small jazz groups, sax quartet, jazz big band and orchestra.

I have composed original pieces for all the groups I have played in as well as made arrangements for them, and almost all have been played in public.

I enjoy time spent working alone writing and developing music - but only up to a point! I enjoy collaborating with others also, sharing goals and working towards their achievement.

So, I am looking forward to developing what I know and embracing new challenges.
